Hi.
A comment on a different post about podcasts got me thinking about this question so I figured I'd ask it here.
Does anyone know of a podcast player with variable speed control and the ability to skip through?
Like Leo said, you have to listen through so much crap in a lot of podcasts to get to what you want to know, that I have really never been all that fond of them. Perhaps it's my A D D but I just can't stand taking the time to listen to someone snort, sniffle, and fumble their way through something. Therefore, I'm sure I'm missing out on some really great content.
I prefer the speed of listening to my screen reader but would also enjoy learning things of a technical nature, i.e. Mac stuff, by listening to someone else actually doing what I'm trying to learn.
I hope this makes sense and I hope there's an affirmative answer to my question. *smile*
Thanks!
Well, you can just download the podcast onto your computer and go throug it
at whatever speed you want. Or if you have an iphone you can use Overcast.
But you could also just find good podcasts that don't have all that stuff. I never
skip through podcasts except maybe to skip over the theme music.
Pretty sure that the standard podcast app on your apple device (if applicable) also has a speed control as well which you can access when you bring up the full play screen. Not really sure though, and my phone is not near me as I write this post, but I'm sure I can figure it out if you don't figure it out first.
I'll check it. I've downloaded Downcast and like it so far.
Thanks, yall.
Download the podcast and fastfoward with the player of your choice.
I really do like overcast.
Aside from the ability to pick a speed you want your podcasts to play at, it also has a nice feature, where longer periods of quiet are compressed down. I didn't honestly think it was a huge deal, until I saw how much time the app had managed to save me.
